Our Story

Passion for the Craft

We are excited to share our love of the Central American Tropical Forests and the design-build craftsmen that create stunning fine furniture. We sustainably farm the best wood on the planet and transform that same wood into works of art that’ll last a lifetime.

Rooted in the Rainforest

Born from the Forest Floor

Carara Tropical Hardwoods was founded on a singular belief: that the most extraordinary furniture in the world begins with the most extraordinary wood in the world — and that wood grows in the tropical forests of Central America.

Our design-build craftsmen have spent generations mastering the art of transforming sustainably harvested teak and mahogany into heirloom pieces that outlast the trends, the decades, and the lifetimes of those who love them.

Design-Build Philosophy

One Vision, One Hand

Every piece we create is designed and built by the same hands. There is no separation between designer and craftsman — this unity of vision is what makes Carara furniture unmistakable.

From the selection of the raw timber to the final application of hand-rubbed oil, every step reflects an uncompromising commitment to quality that no mass production process can replicate.

Old-Growth Teak

Sustainably farmed in Central America. Naturally resistant to weathering and insects.

Honduran Mahogany

Classic warm grain, hand-selected for exceptional figure and consistency.

Premium Leather

Full-grain cowhide and exotic hides harvested within legal and ethical frameworks.

Artisan Hardware
